As many as 50% of women and 25% of men have abnormal veins.
Although primarily due to hereditary, pregnancy, age, obesity, hot baths,
injury, sun tanning, and poor circulation can also contribute to the formation
of unsightly veins.
There are two categories of unsightly veins :
Spider veins:
They are tiny broken vessels, which take various shapes.
Their color ranges between red and purple. They appear mostly on the thighs and
face. They can cause burning sensation, leg fatigue, unsightly looks and
restless leg syndrome.

Varicose veins:
They are dilated, bulgy blood vessels that appear on the
legs. They appear as a result of Injury, pregnancy, standing, phlebitis
and heredity. They cause fatigue, edema and pain in the legs and in severe
cases, cause chronic ulceration and pigmentation of skin.
Treatment of unsightly veins:
The treatment of these unsightly veins is safe and 95% successful.
There are 3 modalities of treatments :
1) Sclerotherapy: A special medication is injected
into the veins causing them to seal off and eventually disappear permanently. It
does not require time off work or limitation of activity. New ones will
eventually appear as it is a continuous process in the body. Acne & Skin Care

2) Ambulatory micro-phlebectomy: It is mainly used
when one vein does not seal. Through a small incision, the vein is hooked out.

treat facial unsightly veins. Laser do not give satisfactory results with leg
veins.
